Editorial Policy
This policy explains how content on this platform is produced, labeled, and corrected. It exists so readers can judge what kind of information they are looking at.
Content types and labels
- Community experience records are de-identified, editorially rewritten summaries of publicly shared recovery accounts. They are labeled as community reports. They are never presented as scientific evidence.
- Community patterns are recurring structures observed across multiple experience records. They are observations, not findings.
- Synthetic examples (used only to demonstrate the data model) are explicitly labeled SYNTHETIC everywhere they appear. They are excluded from all statistics, never cited as real experiences, and never used as evidence.
- Research summaries paraphrase published studies with source type and evidence strength ratings. Where DOIs or PMIDs are known they are provided; where uncertain, they are left unstated rather than guessed.
- Claims and controversies present the state of the evidence with explicit status ratings and named uncertainties.
De-identification and privacy
Community-derived records are processed to remove usernames, identifiers, contact details, locations, and other personal information. Source material is never published and is excluded from the public repository. Do not attempt to re-identify records.
Language and tone
Content is written to be calm, non-judgmental, and evidence-aware. It does not shame pornography users, does not assume every reader has an addiction, and does not diagnose.
Evidence boundaries
The platform maintains a strict separation: personal experience is not evidence, community observation is not causation, correlation is not causation, and "uncertain" is not "false." Statements that exceed available evidence are corrected or removed.
Corrections
Factual errors are corrected when identified, including errors in published analysis pieces. The current version of any page is authoritative.
